Who’s in the FBI Season 7 cast?

No FBI cast members have announced their exits at the time of writing, so all six main cast members are expected to return for Season 7: Missy Peregrym (Maggie Bell); Zeeko Zaki (OA Zidan); Jeremy Sisto (Jubal Valentine); Alana de la Garza (Isobel Castille); John Boyd (Stuart Scola); and Katherine Renee Kane (Tiffany Wallace.)

Two cast members on the bubble, however, are Peregym, who has played Maggie since Season 1, and Kane, who joined as Tiffany in Season 3. Peregrym sparked speculation she was leaving FBI in Season 6, Episode 10, “Family Affair,” in which Maggie is shot and almost killed on a case with OA. At the end of the episode, Maggie tells OA about how her view on her career as an FBI agent has changed now that she’s a mother. (Maggie adopted her friend and fellow agent Jessica Blake’s daughter, Ella, in Season 6, Episode 6, “Unforeseen,” after Jessica dies in surgery following an aneurysm.)

“It was a close call,” OA said in “Family Affair” after Maggie survived her shooting. “Too close. An inch down or to the left and I would’ve… It would have been over,” Maggie responded.“I worry about Ella. I mean, how can I not? If something were to happen to me, that poor girl would have to start over? Again? She needs me.”

Later in the episode, OA tells Isobel about how he thinks Maggie should take a break from FBI work while she recovers mentally and physically from the shooting. “I think today really shook [Maggie],” he said. “Is there any way that you could, I don’t know, demand that she take some time off? I just know she’s never going to ask for it.” Isobel responds, “Yeah, I can. Is that what you feel needs to happen…?” OA replies, “Yeah. I do. She almost made that little girl an orphan all over agin. So, yes.”

Following “Family Affair,” Maggie was missing for two episodes before returning for the Season 6 finale, “Ring of Fire,” though fans still wonder whether FBI could be setting up her exit for good now that Maggie is a mother.

Kane, for her part, sparked speculation that she was leaving in an interview with TVLine before the FBI Season 6 finale, which she described as a “very, very turbulent, shocking” episode for Tiffany. During the finale, the FBI team investigates a Somalian terrorist group, Hakin Siran, responsible for the death of Special Agent Trevor Hobbs in Season 6, Episode 8, “Phantom,” in which Tiffany became obsessed with tracking down the leader of the terrorist group the against orders of her bosses and almost cost the team the case.

In her interview with TVLine, Kane explained her “shock” reading the script for the finale, which fans wondered whether it meant that she would die. “We were really worried about Tiffany,” Kane said. “It shocked me a bit when I first read it, to see how much it was bending her out of shape.” She added of what Tiffany has learned since her last face-off with the terrorist group leader. “She’s done a lot of work on herself between then and now, and change doesn’t come overnight, but I think we’ll absolutely see her approaching this case and her work with her team with a lot more grace, a little bit more wisdom.”

How many episodes is FBI Season 7?

CBS hasn’t confirmed the episode count for FBI Season 7 yet, however, it’s expacted that the series will return to its usual 19 to 23-episode count that it had in its first six seasons — excluding Season 3, which had 15 episodes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Season 6, which had a reduced amount of episodes due to the Writer’s guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes that delayed production by several months.

FBI is available to stream on Paramount Plus.
